For those of you who recently bought the new Vue System Brewing by Keurig and may be wondering about their packs and cups, here are some of the solution that may answer your questions (as adapted from www.keurig.com).

Question: Are the Vue™ packs Kosher?

Answer: With the exception of Café Escapes Hot Cocoa and Café Escapes Chai, all currently available Vue packs are Kosher certified by the Orthodox Union.

Question: Will Starbucks® and Dunkin’ Donuts™ coffee be available in Vue™ packs?

Answer: We expect to distribute Starbucks Vue™ packs initially in specialty, department store, and mass retailers in the U.S. as well as on our website by fall 2012. Dunkin Donuts™ coffee does not have plans at this time to be part of the Vue system. We will provide further updates when new brands become part of the Vue system.

Question: Why are there different sizes of Vue™ packs?

Answer: Some Vue™ packs are small-sized, others are medium-sized, to accommodate varying ingredient volumes necessary to produce an optimal beverage. In short, a larger optimal beverage requires more ingredients for a perfect brew. For example, the medium cup allows more space for more ingredients in beverages like the Barista Prima Coffeehouse® varieties or the iced latte and travel mug size coffees.

Question: How much coffee is in each Vue™ pack?

Answer: Like our K-Cup® packs, the number of ounces (or grams) in each pack varies depending on the beverage. Even among coffee packs, volumes vary depending on the coffee’s roast level, grind, and formulation for optimal brewing.

Question: What quantity pack boxes will be offered? Are there any plans for other box counts?

Answer: We currently offer two box counts for the Vue™ packs: 16 count (small cups) and 12 count (medium cups), which are available in our Retail and e-Commerce channels. The boxes for each are the same size. We will add further box counts and sizes to fulfill consumer and/or retailer needs.

Question: How does the Vue™ pack work?

Answer: The Vue pack is shaped much like a miniature coffee pot and works in a very similar manner. Once inserted into the brewer, the pack is punctured. The heated water then flows into the pack and out the spout. With its Custom Brew Technology® feature, the Vue™ brewer applies just the right amount of water pressure, time, and air flow to create the perfect beverage which flows out the spout of the pack.

Question: What is the best way to recycle the Vue™ packs?

Answer: The plastic cup used in our Vue™ packs is made of #5 plastic, so it can be recycled wherever #5 plastic is accepted. #5 plastic may not be currently accepted for recycling in your community. Check with your municipality or waste hauler, or visit www.vuerecycling.com for more information about recycling the Vue™ pack’s plastic cups.

Question: With the increase in temperature, is there any chance of plastic leaching from the Vue™ pack?
Answer: The plastic will not leach from the Vue™ pack. We ONLY use FDA (Food & Drug Administration) approved plastics that have been approved for use in this temperature range.

The Special Edition Brewing System is our mid-luxury home brewing system that offers a blend of styling and convenient features. The Special Edition features chrome accents, a blue, back lit LCD display and three brew size options. Programmable features include a Digital Clock, Adjustable Temperature and Auto On/Off. The 48-ounce removable water reservoir holds up to eight cups before refilling and for the removable drip tray allows for easy cleaning and the use of travel mugs.

At initial set up, once the machine is filled with water, it will take approximately 4-minutes for the water will be heated. During the heating period the red light next to ‘HEATING’ on the LED Control Center will become illuminated. Once the water is heated, the red light will turn off and the Small Mug Button will flash. As for Keurig, The K-Cups are hard to find in stores. I have only seen Bed Bath and Beyond sell K-Cups in the store. 18 k-cups for $10??? That’s ridiculous. ENTER AMAZON… They sell 50 K-Cups for $19.00. That is a better deal by FAR. You would be well to do to buy a coffee variety pack so you can see which one is the best for you. You don’t want to get stuck with 50 K-Cups of a flavor you don’t like.

If you are having a group of people over, it’s definitely easier to make a 12-cup batch of coffee. Some people may not like having to use 12 K-Cups (a K-Cup for each guest). But here’s the thing. Every single person will comment on how good their coffee is. You can then show them the Keurig, and it’s a great conversation piece.

The B60 is a good compromise among the Keurig models. You can save your money and not spend $30 for a larger water reservoir. So you get a travel mug size of 11.25(?) oz. in the B70. So what? The 9.etc oz. cup size is plenty big for most travel mugs once you mix in the creamer.

Let’s be frank. It’s expensive. But honestly, the investment is worth it. Trust the reviews about the machine. People are more inclined to write a review if they really love a product or it they really hate a product. Obviously, people love this machine, and for good reason.

It is economical to buy this machine if you hate wasting $2, $3 or $4 at a coffee shop for your coffee in the morning. The per-cup average is about 40 cents, and in the long term, this machine pays itself off.
